A Thoughtful Apporach to Bookkeeping

Built on Experience, Clarity, And A genuine Passion For Helping Businesses Stay Organized

From a young age, I’ve been drawn to understanding how money works. I was the kid who categorized my allowance, built simple budgets for gifted money, and spent afternoons sorting through rolls of coins with my Dad—learning early that small details add up.

That interest naturally led me to study Finance and Accounting in college, where I built a strong technical foundation. After graduating, I entered the corporate world in an Operations role, where I had the unique opportunity to support Sales, HR/Payroll, and Finance teams. Working cross-functionally allowed me to see how accurate financial data impacts every part of a business—from cash flow and payroll to planning and growth.

While that experience was invaluable, I found myself wanting something different. I was most fulfilled when I was helping people understand their numbers, not just report them. I wanted to work with business owners and provide the kind of financial support that feels steady, personal, and genuinely helpful.

That desire led me to step away from the corporate environment and focus on what I care about most: supporting entrepreneurs and small-to-medium sized businesses. Balanced Rock Bookkeeping was built on the belief that reliable financial systems, clear communication, and consistent support give business owners the freedom to grow with confidence.

Values & Work Style

More than Just the Numbers

balance, Flexibility, and a work style Designed to support real life

Another major factor in my shift from the corporate world to small business ownership was the value I place on a healthy work-life balance. I believe work should support the things that matter most in life—the things that bring us joy, fulfillment, and connection.

That belief shapes how I work with clients. One of my favorite parts of bookkeeping is giving business owners back their time—time to focus on their business, pursue personal interests, and spend with the people they care about. Knowing I can return 10+ hours each month (on average) to clients who were previously DIY bookkeepers is something I don’t take lightly.

As a business owner, I value flexibility—not just for my own schedule, but so I can support clients thoughtfully and intentionally rather than within a rigid 9–5 structure.

Outside of work, I enjoy travel, cooking at home, and spending time outdoors. I’m currently working toward visiting every U.S. National Park—tracked, of course, in a spreadsheet.

Fun fact: the Balanced Rock formation in Arches National Park, Utah inspired my business name—a reminder that balance, stability, and thoughtful structure are at the heart of everything I do.
